Project: The design and dimensions of project vessels did not allow them to pass through the Volga-Baltic channel to the Caspian sea. The maximum width of the vessel permitted to pass through the gateway was 16.5 metres. The width of the objects was 17.7 meters.
Task: To find a non-standard solution for the passage of those vessels through the inland waterways.
Solution: For the safe passage a special project was developed and coordinated with the shipowner. The idea was to cut the dimensions of the vessels so they can safely passage through inland waterways. Bridges wings, lifeboats, false-pipe and mast with the radars were cut, astronomical deck rails were dismantled. Finally, the passage was agreed with all the authorities.
Result: All the works were executed in extremely short terms - in 4 days. The vessels successfully reached their destination.
Result: The smooth and regular operations were organized. The process of rolling out and placing the cargo in the port of Ust-Luga was completed within four days.
